That's a great question! GALILEO is a wonderful resource available for educational use to current students, faculty, and staff of University System of Georgia institutions as well as other public institutions in Georgia. However, if we publish our password on the open web, like the Library website, anyone one the web would be able to view the password. This could violate contract and copyright agreements we have with the journal publishers and database providers that make their content available to you! We ask you to follow the directions and find the GALILEO password by logging into your GIL account so we can be sure you are an active library user. We're sorry that it might seem like extra trouble for you to log in, but we have to do it that way to be sure we are not violating our agreements or breaking the law.
