The Chicago Manual of Style is a citation format, similar to MLA or APA.  It is also sometimes referred to as the "Turabian" format, based on an abbreviated manual edited for many years by Kate L. Turabian.

You can find more information about using Chicago/Turabian style format at Purdue University's Online Writing Lab at http://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/section/2/12/.
